About Benchmark Pricing

Benchmark pricing is the idea that you can take best practices from other companies and apply those practices to your own pricing.

We believe that there is a lot to be learned from pricingat other companies and we often find that cross-industry knowledge is very helpful.

The most important factor in applying best practices is that the context for the pricing be aplicable. A best-in-class dress skirt is not appropriate in connection with a best-in-class arctic parka.

Unfortunately, context in pricing is complex and varies with market position, product quality, channel strength, timing, etc.

In pricing, like in other areas of business, some things can be done in a standardized way (hence this site). For outstanding results, close attention to the market drives - and some creativity - is still required.
